This Editorial Policy explains how GambleBeacon approaches the preparation and publication of industry news and analysis. It is intended to guide our contributors and to give readers a clear view of our standards. It is not a guarantee of perfection; journalism involves judgement under deadline pressure. When we fall short, we aim to correct the record openly.
1. Editorial mission and scope
GambleBeacon reports on the business of gambling and related markets. Our coverage typically includes industry news, commercial developments, product and technology updates, regulatory and policy developments, market trends, and company-related information that is relevant to professional readers.
We write primarily for industry practitioners, executives, researchers, media professionals, and informed readers who follow gambling markets. Our goal is to provide clear, useful, and carefully sourced reporting — not entertainment tips, odds advice, or promotional hype.
2. Independence
Editorial decisions — including what to cover, how to frame a story, and whether to publish — are made by the editorial team. Advertising, sponsorship, and commercial relationships must not dictate news judgement.
Where a commercial relationship could reasonably be perceived as relevant to a story, we aim to handle the situation transparently and to keep promotional material visually and editorially distinct from news content.
3. Sourcing and verification
We prefer primary and authoritative sources whenever practical. These may include official company statements, regulator publications, court or government documents, filings, on-the-record interviews, and other materials that can be checked.
Secondary reporting may be used when it adds context, but material claims should be corroborated where possible. Anonymous sources are used sparingly and only when the information is important, the source is credible in our judgement, and there is a valid reason for anonymity.
We do not present rumour as fact. When information is unconfirmed, we say so.
4. Accuracy and fairness
Accuracy is a core obligation. Before publication, writers and editors should check names, titles, figures, dates, jurisdictions, and the meaning of technical or legal terms.
Fairness means representing events and statements in context, avoiding unnecessary sensationalism, and giving subjects a reasonable opportunity to respond when a story contains significant criticism — especially when practical under news deadlines.
5. Distinguishing news, analysis, opinion, and commercial content
- News prioritises verified events and attributable facts.
- Analysis may interpret developments and explain implications, while remaining grounded in evidence.
- Opinion or commentary, if published, should be clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from news reporting.
- Advertising, sponsored, or partner content must be labelled as such and kept separate from independent editorial coverage.
6. Conflicts of interest
Contributors should avoid assignments where a personal, financial, or close professional conflict would compromise, or reasonably appear to compromise, independent judgement. Potential conflicts should be disclosed to editors before work begins.
Gifts, payments, or favours intended to influence coverage should be refused. Travel or access arranged by a third party should be disclosed to editors and handled with caution.
7. Attribution, quotations, images, and copyright
We attribute information and quotations to their sources. We do not fabricate quotes. Substantial excerpts from third-party materials should respect copyright and fair-use limits applicable to our publishing context.
Images, charts, and media should be used with appropriate rights or licences. Credit should be provided where required or expected. We do not knowingly publish stolen or misrepresented media.
8. Corrections and updates
If we confirm a material error, we correct it promptly. Depending on the nature of the change, we may update the article text, add an editor’s note, or both.
Routine updates that add new information after publication should be handled transparently when they materially change the story. Readers who spot possible errors are encouraged to contact us via the Contact page.
9. Submissions and contributed material
We may consider press materials, contributed insights, or guest submissions. Acceptance is discretionary. We may edit for clarity, accuracy, length, and house style. Publication of submitted material does not imply endorsement of every claim within it.
Contributors are responsible for the accuracy of information they provide and for ensuring they have the right to share it.
10. Use of AI-assisted tools
Writers and editors may use digital tools, including AI-assisted software, for tasks such as drafting aids, research organisation, transcription support, or language polishing. Such tools do not replace editorial responsibility.
Any AI-assisted output used in our publishing workflow should be reviewed by a human editor or writer for accuracy, originality, sourcing integrity, and fairness before publication. We do not publish unverified machine-generated claims as fact.
11. Reporting on gambling, regulation, and market data
Gambling is a regulated industry with legal, social, and commercial complexity. When covering regulation, enforcement, taxation, market figures, or product claims, we aim to:
- Identify the jurisdiction and the type of authority or data source involved
- Avoid overstating preliminary proposals as final law
- Handle market statistics with clear attribution and caution about methodology
- Avoid presenting news coverage as betting advice, investment advice, or a promise of outcomes
GambleBeacon publishes industry information. We do not operate games of chance and do not encourage illegal gambling.
12. Reader expectations
This policy describes our intended standards. Individual articles may still contain incomplete information when events are developing. We encourage readers to read stories carefully, follow updates, and contact us when something appears wrong.
